I must say that I have had a wonderful life living for the Lord. Of course, we all know that our journey on this earth can be alot like a roller coaster: with all it's mountain tops and valleys that we must go through. But my blessings have always outweighed the bad times.
I was birthed into a wonderful family on October 11, 1972. My parents, Jimmy and Peggy Howell are both Pentecostal preachers and at that time were residing in Pocahontas, Tennessee. We lived there for about ten years and then moved up the road to Middleton, Tennessee, where my parents are still living.
I was privileged to be raised in a Christian home, and attend a great church with a loving church family. We were members of Pocahontas Church Of The Lord Jesus Christ. It was there that I received some of the most admirable instruction from an outstanding pastor, Rev. James Chessor.
I was always interested in church, even from a very young age. I loved music and being around great men of God. There was a gnawing hunger in me to learn more about what God had in store. My sister and I would even have church at home. Some of my cousins would come over and we would have singing, testimony and of course some preaching. Little did I know what God was actually preparing me for. It was somewhere around my tenth birthday when my youth leader W.C Smith asked me to do a sermon for our youth group, this would be the beginning of a new era in my life.
I was sixteen when I started feeling the call from God to start evangelizing. I sought the will of God and the wisdom of other great men and women of God. They all assured me if this was Gods will he would make a way where there was no way. You see it's hard to evangelize without an automobile! I laugh about that now, but of course, it is the truth. I rememeber telling God if that was what He wanted me to do, then He would have to make a way. So, one night, while sitting in a church service in a little town called Hinkle, down in Mississippi, a man walked up to me and handed me keys to a car. I knew then what I had to do.
I started traveling around the country, going wherever God would lead me. I had traveled for about three years before settling down and pastoring a small church in Selmer,Tennessee. I pastored there for almost five years and then felt God calling me to return to the evangelistic field. I had been on the field for seven years, when the Lord brought me to a small town called Friendship,Tennessee. I began to feel a burden for this area and believed that God has something special for this community. I took over the Pastoralship of Faith Pentecostal Church where I have now been for almost six years.
I have five beautiful children and a beautiful wife. They all love the Lord , play music and sing. They are behind me 100% and back me any way they can.
We are experiencing signs and wonders with no sign of slowing down!!!!! We are currently in the middle of building a brand new sanctuary that will seat somewhere around five hundred people.
Pray for me and my family that we will do all that God has laid before us!!!
